In 2025, ELMEAS attended MEDICA in Düsseldorf, one of the world’s most recognised healthcare and medical technology events. For us, MEDICA was a special occasion: not only because it brings together healthcare innovators from across the globe, but also because it took place in our home city.
Although MEDICA is traditionally more focused on medical devices and medtech, we saw it as an important opportunity to be present in our local healthcare ecosystem, share what ELMEAS is building, and connect with people working on the future of healthcare.
Bringing a healthtech perspective to a medtech stage
At MEDICA 2025, ELMEAS contributed a software-driven perspective to a conference strongly shaped by medical devices, diagnostics, and healthcare technology. Our work focuses on connecting clinical, technical, and human workflows through a comprehensive healthtech platform built around a newly developed hospital information system.
This made MEDICA an exciting environment for us. Many conversations naturally centred on how hospitals, clinics, devices, data, and users can be better connected. That is exactly where ELMEAS aims to create value.
Our startup pitch at MEDICA
A key highlight of the event was our startup pitch, where we presented the ELMEAS vision and our approach to building a new kind of hospital information system: connected, structured, user-friendly, and designed around real clinical workflows.
In the pitch, we spoke about the challenge many hospitals face today: fragmented systems, isolated applications, analogue data, and complex workflows that make true digital integration difficult. We also presented our core product, elio, as part of a broader ecosystem that brings together clinical staff, patients, resident doctors, GPs, and other user groups through connected tools such as the patient app and doctor portal.
The pitch was a valuable chance to explain not only what we are building, but why we believe healthcare software needs to be rethought from the ground up.
Meaningful conversations and new connections
Beyond the stage, MEDICA gave us the opportunity to meet a wide range of people from the healthcare sector, including innovators, companies, potential partners, and people interested in the future of clinical digitalisation.
We made many valuable connections and had productive conversations about interoperability, device integration, workflow optimisation, AI-supported processes, and the role of modern hospital information systems in everyday clinical work.
These exchanges confirmed once again that the need for connected, practical, and user-friendly digital infrastructure in healthcare is only growing.
Proud to represent ELMEAS in Düsseldorf
Because Düsseldorf is our home, MEDICA 2025 felt especially meaningful. Participating in a major international healthcare event so close to where we are building ELMEAS gave us the chance to represent our team, our vision, and our region in front of a global audience.
It was also a reminder that innovation in healthcare does not only happen in distant hubs or large institutions. It can be built locally, with close contact to users, clinics, and partners, while still contributing to an international conversation.
Looking ahead to next year
MEDICA 2025 was a valuable experience for ELMEAS. We left the event with strong new connections, helpful feedback, and renewed motivation to continue developing our platform.
