A Week in Munich: What elmeas Learned at FOBI

In July, the elmeas team attended FOBI in Munich, one of the highlights on the German dermatology calendar. Beyond the sessions and the hallway conversations, one exchange stuck with us in particular: the chance to talk shop with colleagues from dermatology practices about how they actually work day to day.

What struck us most was how familiar their frustrations sounded. Different specialty, different patient population, same story: clinical information systems that don't quite fit the way practices really work. Clunky documentation, systems that don't talk to each other, time lost to workarounds instead of patient care. It's a problem we hear constantly in our own field, and it was clarifying to see it echoed so clearly by people outside it.

If there's one takeaway from FOBI, it's this. The challenges around clinical information systems aren't specific to any one specialty. They're a shared, structural issue across healthcare. That's exactly the kind of problem elmeas exists to work on, and conversations like these are a good reminder of why.

Thanks to everyone we met in Munich for the conversations.
