This year’s DOG Congress in Berlin once again demonstrated how dynamic and innovation-driven the field of ophthalmology has become. As one of the leading congresses for eye care professionals in the German-speaking world, DOG brings together clinicians, researchers, and technology providers to exchange ideas on the latest developments, challenges, and solutions shaping the future of ophthalmology. For us at elmeas, it was a great opportunity to be part of this environment and contribute our perspective on modern healthcare software.
A recurring theme throughout the congress was the growing complexity of clinical workflows. This is particularly evident in ophthalmology, where advanced diagnostics, imaging systems, and specialized tools play a central role. In such an environment, seamless data exchange is not just beneficial—it is essential. This is exactly where our approach comes in. At elmeas, we focus on connecting existing systems to enable more efficient, transparent, and streamlined workflows without adding additional burden to clinical staff.
What made DOG especially valuable for us was the direct exchange with professionals in the field. We had the chance to speak with ophthalmologists, IT decision-makers, and other healthcare stakeholders, gaining first-hand insights into current challenges. One thing became very clear: interoperability is no longer a future concept—it is a fundamental requirement for delivering high-quality care. Data needs to be available at the right time and in the right place, and that can only be achieved through well-connected systems.
At our booth, visitors were able to experience our solution firsthand and discuss real-world use cases from everyday clinical practice. These conversations went far beyond technical details—they highlighted the urgent need for software that integrates smoothly into existing infrastructures, particularly in specialized fields like ophthalmology. The feedback we received strongly reinforced our belief that there is a growing demand for practical, interoperable solutions.
For us, DOG 2025 was not only an opportunity to showcase our work, but also a place to learn, listen, and refine our approach. The insights and conversations we had in Berlin will directly influence how we continue to develop our platform. We are leaving the congress with new ideas, valuable connections, and a strong motivation to keep advancing our vision of a more connected healthcare system.
